Frequently Asked Questions for Donors
- The PAX Foundation is an independent, non-partisan, non-sectarian organization. Our mission is to foster a prosperous Lebanon where every individual and every community is free and empowered to flourish in peace and dignity.
- We do this via the PAX Exchange, a trusted and secure AI-powered platform that connects donors and beneficiaries, and provides direct funding and project management for economic development projects and programs in Lebanon.
- With the Exchange, we also aim to provide the Lebanese diaspora with a platform to connect with their communities back home and help them grow and prosper.
- The platform prioritizes transparency and accountability, measures progress, and spotlights impact.
The PAX Exchange is a secure, AI-powered platform, built to ensure transparency so that donors can clearly see where their funds have gone and understand how their funds have helped move projects forward.
Each project and program on the platform goes through a robust process that includes vetting the project's managers, assessing its goals and intended impact, and tracking progress at each project phase.
Once a donor has contributed to a project, they gain access to more detailed information as the project cycle evolves. Donors are allowed to provide feedback or suggestions at the Project Proposal stage, and can track progress throughout the project lifecycle. At all project stages, donors can choose how much they wish to be informed and/or involved.
Projects are monitored in two ways: 1- through regular reporting using automated forms on the platform; 2- by confirming the project implementation schedule and completing all milestones.
Regular audits will be performed through:
- Informal citizen reporters who visit the project site, upload images and provide information that helps track progress
- AI-powered reporting via tools like satellite sweeps of the project site and local news reporting
- Formal site visits and reports at the discretion of the PAX Foundation
The PAX Exchange is open to all, including members of the Lebanese diaspora and institutional donors, who pass our vetting process. For donors, this means verifying identities. For project managers, this means verifying identities and validating projects to ensure they align with our requirements (e.g., have acquired the necessary permits and serve the community).
Those accepting donations or funding can be either individuals or NGOs with an interest in assisting local authorities, whose programs or projects directly benefit communities in Lebanon. Government entities are not eligible to accept donations or funding through the PAX Exchange.
This is about creating a more financially inclusive Lebanon where its citizens hold the power to improve their lives. It’s about harnessing our collective capacity (as donors/funders) to ensure the Lebanese people and their communities can flourish.
We view economic development as a continuous cycle of growth and a way to achieve peace through prosperity. We envision the PAX Exchange evolving over time to meet the changing needs of the Lebanese community.
